Kyle Briglia, owner and manager of Briglia Boatworks, grew up in the boating industry. Briglia's experience in this field includes commercial fishing, charter fishing and boat construction. From an early age he had several mentors in the boat construction industry. At fifteen, he constructed a 36 ft. Chesapeake dead rise alongside documented boat builder Billy Moor. This experience gave Briglia his first taste of what he knew he was born to do. At the age of 23, Briglia owned and operated a successful charter boat business. As owner-operator he cut his teeth on some of the most dangerous water in North America. It’s here where he learned why and what makes his boats perform so dynamically. Along the way he caught the attention of legendary boat builder Billy Baum, who would become a major influence and mentor for Briglia. Impressed with Briglia’s quality control and dedication, Baum began to share with Briglia his fifty years worth of boat building experience. With performance, stability, and other trade secrets, Billy Baum provided the final piece of the puzzle which makes up every Briglia Hull today.

As a native of Wanchese, North Carolina and a long time preferred boat builder, Billy Baum brings over fifty years of experience to Briglia Boatworks. Billy's vast experience and many years of design and performance expertise coupled with years of trial and error have lead to the evolutionary designs of the 56', 60',67’ and 76' sport fishing boats Briglia Boatworks has to offer. He is considered by many boat builders as an innovator of design and his opinion is held in high regard by all builders who know him. At Briglia Boatworks we have the privilege of having the latest in the learning curve on how and what makes these sport fishing boats perform so well. Billy Baum's hull designs incorporate just the right amount of Delta Conic at the point-of-impact and are balanced with an anti-roll-in the stern. The refinement of these two design elements in combination results in a design with proven performance in all sea conditions. Billy is not only involved in design he also works closely with our team on balance and weight distribution along with rudder geometry. From start to finish all of theses things are closely calculated for optimum performance on every sport fishing boat we build.
